We don’t follow trends—we follow ideas. Designed to evolve with time.

We are a leather goods brand where bags are more than just accessories — they carry stories. Each collection we create is built around a concept, a narrative that unfolds through every piece. Behind every collection, there’s a world imagined — sometimes playful, sometimes surreal — where materials, forms, and details become characters in their own universe.

We take our work seriously, but we also enjoy the process — letting imagination guide us along the way. Our purpose is to craft pieces that transcend seasons, blending timeless design with curiosity and a touch of poetry.

We believe that objects can hold meaning — that they can become companions, carrying stories and memories over time. Our collections are not dictated by trends but by ideas, often blurring the line between the functional and the imaginary.

The beginnings

Iriarte Iriarte was founded in 2009 in Barcelona by Carolina Iriarte and her sister Sol Iriarte as a small studio-shop. Though Sol left the project after a few months, those early days laid the foundation for what the brand would become — a commitment to craftsmanship, imagination, and timeless design.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Carolina studied Fine Arts before settling in Barcelona. During her early years in the city, she worked for a renowned shoe designer, where she took her first steps into the world of leather craftsmanship — an experience that sparked the beginnings of Iriarte Iriarte.

Drawing from cinema, literature, the visual arts, and cultural movements, she weaves references into her own language — one that blends tradition with a sense of wonder. But beyond these influences, her work is deeply shaped by the everyday — by personal experiences, fleeting thoughts, and the people who surround her. Her designs often reflect an intimate dialogue between reality and imagination, turning life’s small obsessions, questions, and dreams into tangible objects. The result is a collection of pieces that feel familiar yet slightly surreal, like something pulled from an imagined world.

Behind Iriarte Iriarte Pieces

Our materials are the foundation of everything we create. We work exclusively with high quality vegetable-tanned leather from Spain and Italy — a leather free of chromium and synthetic chemicals, tanned using natural tannins from plants and tree bark. This method not only respects the environment but gives the leather a living
quality, allowing it to develop a unique patina over time. Each piece ages beautifully, becoming a testament to the life of its owner.

We carefully select all our materials from local suppliers, prioritizing natural fibers, deadstock fabrics, and limited quantities to minimize waste and give each collection a sense of rarity. Every detail is sourced between Spain and Italy, reinforcing our commitment to supporting small-scale European production. We design our own locks and hardware, creating unique pieces that are exclusive to our brand, adding another layer of authenticity and craftsmanship to each piece.

Production happens in small batches between our Barcelona studio and a family-run workshop in Ubrique, in the south of Spain — a place renowned for its leatherworking tradition. Paco and his small team are in charge of bringing our designs to life. With hands that have been working leather for a lifetime, Paco’s touch is almost magical — each piece finished with care,
precision, and decades of knowledge passed down through generations.
